Thirty-year-old Dangriga resident Devin Parchue, who was convicted of the 2022 murder of Ronald "Pungas" Gill, has been sentenced to life imprisonment, with eligibility for parole after 21 years.

The sentence was handed down in Dangriga by Justice Antonette Moore following a judge-alone trial in the High Court. Parchue had previously been found guilty of fatally stabbing Gill on July 23, 2022. Gill, a songwriter and entertainer, was attacked while buying food at a restaurant in Dangriga Town. An altercation reportedly broke out between the two men, during which Parchue pulled a knife and stabbed Gill multiple times. He died at the scene.
