Man Changes Plea To Guilty For Murder After Seeing Video Footage

Convicted murderer Lyson James Cacho, 25, will be sentenced in June after he pleaded guilty to murder yesterday in court. This comes after he changed his plea after seeing security footage of the murder during his trial.

Reports are that Cacho shot Jordan Waight, 23, in the back of the head in November, 2023. The surveillance footage shows Cacho and Waight inside a yard on Barbara Harris Street around 9:00 in the morning. Waight walked away from Cacho, who then jumped on a bicycle, rode up behind him and fired a single shot.

Cacho, who was represented by Attorney Ian Gray, has been on remand since May 6th 2025. He will reappear in court on June 15th where a mitigation plea will be heard on his behalf.
