And in another pressing police matter, a video that has gone viral on Facebook showing a man repeatedly striking a chained dog has outraged the public and led police to launch an investigation into animal cruelty. ASP Stacy Smith says they are still working to ascertain exactly where the incident occurred, and who is the owner of the animal.

"That video has come to the police's attention. We are in possession of it and the commissioner has directed for the information as it relates to where it occurred to be ascertained. I believe what we have received so far is that it is in Cotton Tree Village. I am not sure if it has been confirmed, but certainly it is a matter that the department takes seriously because, I mean, there is absolutely no justification for what was seen on that video. So, certainly it is being investigated and as progress is made, that will be forwarded to the media."
