And finally tonight, a 44-year-old man from Mahogany Heights has been remanded to the Belize Central Prison following allegations of sexual assault against a minor.
Police detained Sheldon Lewis yesterday after a female report was filed at the Mahogany Heights Police Station. According to authorities, Lewis allegedly attacked a female minor at a local park and grabbed her breast.
Lewis appeared before Senior Magistrate Mannon Dennison this morning, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge of sexual assault. Due to the nature of the offense, bail was denied.
Lewis has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to reappear in court in August 2026.
