Ruben Stoll, the tourist who harassed the jaguar cub in mid-July, has been charged under the Wildlife Protection Act. Stoll reportedly voluntarily returned to Belize and surrendered himself to the Forestry Department. He was fined $1,000.
The act dictates that it is illegal to hunt jaguars, and "hunt" is defined as "to kill, take, or molest by any method."
