Elephant Man is "Good To Go" on stage tomorrow night.
Reggae's "energy god" as he is referred to - touched down at the PGIA this afternoon straight out of Kingston, Jamaica via Miami.
The 26 year old who was born Brian O'Neil has risen to the forefront of dancehall bringing with him energy and a lot of flare. Keith Swift greeted him at the airport and got answers to all the questions you have been asking: why the name, what's up with the hair and why it is 'good to go.'
Elephant Man, Reggae Artist
"Well you done know that Belizeans can just come out and enjoy themselves. Keep it jiggy, pon the river, pon the bank. We are going to signal the plane and just have fun."
Keith Swift,
"The phrase of 2003 was of course..."
Elephant Man,
"Yep, Good To Go."
Keith Swift,
"What does it mean?"
Elephant Man,
"Well good to go it is like if I see you, I would say I am ok and everything is okay. I am good to go."
Keith Swift,
"The name Elephant Man, what's up with that."
Elephant Man,
"Well only the ladies them fi know that." [Laughs]
Keith Swift,
"What about the hair and the bright colors and your style?"
Elephant Man,
"I have to keep the image so when they see the gold blonde hair they know it is Elephant man. From the time they see the blonde hair, know it is me."
Keith Swift,
"Did you every thing you would get this big?"
Elephant Man,
"I kind of knew it. I worked hard and I took my work seriously."
