He has been on stages in Canada and New York since his last album and now Ras Indio is returning to store shelves with a new CD. Indio has a new 14 track release called ‘Stay Positive' and today he gave 7NEWS a first listen. He launched the album today to coincide with African Liberation Day and told us the messages on the CD are both educational and entertaining.
Ras Indio,
"If you study the CD you will notice that I am dealing with a lot of situations that are going on now in our time: governmental issues, poor people issues, and basically my own issues in the music industry but we have to stay strong together as a people."
"What I did was use a lot rhythms that you hear on the radio a lot and the reason for doing that is not Ras Indio is not a creative person, remember I play keyboards and I can produce right now from scratch, but because the general public is into this new vibes. Reggae is what I'm about but everybody is addicted to this mainstream style of reggae and I just used the same tracks knowing that in Belize we are able to do that and like I said worldwide this CD is still a demo CD, worldwide."
The album doesn't actually hit shelves until next week but you can see Ras Indio on stage tomorrow night at the Chuck Fender and Richie Spice concert.
