San Pedro was the place to be this past weekend as thousands attended the 2005 Costa Maya Festival.
Milo Paz Jr., San Pedro Resident
"Costa Maya 2005 shows that San Pedro can bring some of the best entertainment into this island, into pour country, for our Belizeans, San Pedranos, and Central Americans to enjoy and it has shown to us that we as a country can unite 7 countries of Central America, including Mexico, to unite our heritage."
The nights were filled with entertainment with performances from all over Central America. And of course on Saturday excited fans waited for the arrival of the Cumbia Kings who did a drive by from their boats. The action wasn't just at night, during the day there were kayak races, bike races, and a volleyball tournament that entertained the spectators.
So as the Costa Maya Festival for 1005 wraps in San Pedro, many residents as well as visitors are going to need sometime to recuperate and prepare for next year. From San Pedro for the San Pedro Sun and Channel 7 News, Ron Sniffin.
