Acclaimed master pianist Frankie Reneau is in Belize once again. Reneau will headline two classical concerts this weekend but before then the maestro is giving lessons to piano students. They are called master classes and they began today. Reneau told us what will be covered in the two sessions.

Frankie Reneau, Master Pianist
"The master classes are a direct continuation of other classes that I have been doing with the students. I believe other people might come to that as well, not only the students that I have been teaching. But that's a venue for them to play for me and to each other and during that I will talk to them about the music that they are playing, I will point out certain things that perhaps are not the way they should be, and I will compliment them on the things that they do well, and in that way all people can learn from each other's faults and from their good points.

There are only two of these master classes, the time has been short this year and so we are having one today and I believe another one sometime later.

What keeps me coming back? I love coming back to Belize, I love Belize passionately. Why? I have no idea. It's in my blood and obviously it's a added incentive for me to be able to helpful in that way."

The second master class is Wednesday night at the Bliss Center beginning at 6:30. Piano students interested in working with Reneau can submit their names to the Bliss Center. Reneau's first concert is Friday night beginning at 7 pm at the George Price Center in Belmopan. Tickets are $15. On Sunday, the show moves to the Bliss Center for a concert beginning at 6 pm. Tickets are $30 for reserved seating and $15 for general.
