The Salvation Army has its bells, but the rotary has buddies in the corridors of power, and that's why the two have teamed up to spearhead a toy drive that will bring Christmas to hundreds of needy children. Rotarian Edward Bouloy says the Rotary hopes to come up with as many as 2000 toys that will go to the Salvation Army to distribute to needy children in Belize City.

Edward Bouloy, Rotary Club
"Last year we started trying to raise 2,000 toys for the Salvation Army's Christmas party. As you know the Salvation Army can use as much help as it can get, especially at this time of year. We've all got to count our blessings, we've escaped all the storms and we're very lucky and this time of year we should think about giving and we'd like to raise at least 2,000 toys within the next two and a half weeks and we're putting toy drop off boxes at Brodies, Mirab, Hofius, and A&R. And we're asking everybody to be as generous as they can in making this another success. In addition to the Salvation Army's Christmas party, which occurs on December 13th, Salvation Army will also be helping the children of the inmates at the prison. Therefore they are taking on a bigger task so we need to raise more than 2,000 toys. We have the toy dropoff barrels like I said are at Hofius, Brodies, Sav-U, and mirab. I you are unable to make it down there you can call myself at Bravo Motors and we'll come and pick up the toys from you. It was a tremendous success last year, we collected in excess of 2,000 toys so everybody really did contribute to this really worthy cause."

The collection points will be up for three weeks at the various locations.
