In just about 30 hours, Belizeans will welcome 2006. And along with the New Year come those New Year's resolutions to lose weight, study harder, buy a car, get a new job...you know them, all those things we wish the changing of a digit could will us all to do. But really, what will Belizeans change in 2006? Keith Swift hit the streets today to find out and along with just regular shoppers he bumped into some faces you might recognize. Here's how it went.

Sampling of the resolutions:

Sylvana Woods,
"I will try to not be impatient in the New Year and lose some of the

black cake which I ate from off of my hips."

Ellis Arnold, Attorney
"I will lose twenty pounds and I will stop smoke."

Arun Hotchandani, Businessman
"My new year's resolution will be to try to lose some weight, try to help be a better person so we could at least reach out and help more people."

Rhenae Nunez,
"To stand up against racism and discrimination in our society. I am going to do more of that in 2006. I am not one to make resolutions, I've never made one, but I've decided that this is what I need to do and I hope more people would do that too."

Hon. Anthony 'Boots' Martinez, Politician
"The New Year's resolution for me is getting ready to do the constituency work in Port Loyola in a more harder way and getting ready for the Belize City elections on the first of March."
