Pianist Frankie Reneau has been commissioned by the Prime Minister to compose a project called "We are Belize" to celebrate the country's 25th anniversary of independence in September. But it's not a solo project, Reneau is calling on players of all instruments to come and audition starting a week from today. Auditions will be held at the bliss center for performing arts and players of strings, Garifuna drums, steel pans, marimba, woodwinds, brass, keyboards, guitars and bass are invited to participate. Those wishing to be a part of the project are being asked to go into the Bliss before audition day on the 17th. To be assigned a slot.

"We are Belize" will be Reneau's second major work to honor Belize: the first was in 1994 and that became the album called Celebration. This "We are Belize" project will come together over the next 9 months and premier at the Bliss on September 17th and 18th.
