Chinese business across the country closed their doors today. According to a community leader, the shut down comes as the Chinese community mourns the loss of their country man, 34 year old Ligi San who was shot and killed during a robbery of his store in San Joaquin Village in the Corozal District on Wednesday. We spoke to Vice Chairman of the Belize Chinese Association Lee Mark Chang who says that the community is taking time out to mourn while a the same time to reflect on past murders of their countrymen over the years. He emphasizes that this is in no way a form of protest.
