A far less controversial publication is the annual issue of the Cross Country Magazine called "The Tradition." It is published by the Cycling Association to raise awareness about the history and pageantry of the race. The editor is Glen Tillet. He says that in its 79th running, the legend, lore and lust for the garland continue to be subjects of fascination.

Glen Tillet, Editor
"I am always and ever intrigued by the role it has played in our development. And what we have done in the past couple of years is starting to get bits and pieces of its history and put it together in a more attractive form in the Cross Country Commemorative Brochure in the hope that the younger generation that's coming up now will be able to understand the significance and the importance it plays in our lives. It is living history, it is a part of us."

"The Tradition" was released today and it should be available widely at gas stations and supermarkets.
