Miss Anglican Cathedral College will be chosen on Saturday night at Bird’s Isle. But before you say it is just another teen queen pageant, organizers swear it isn’t. It is called “I will survive” and it will be extolling the virtues of patience, respect, faithfulness, love, and high self-esteem. This afternoon we spoke to the contestants and the pageant’s coordinator Nicole Welch.
Nicole Welch, Coordinator
“The previous pageants we’ve seen this year, they are saying to stop and put down the gun and let’s live peacefully but we are actually saying stop but do this. Respect yourself, love yourself, put God first, have high self-esteem, believe in yourself, and that is the message that we want to send.”
The sixth contestant is Darnell Ogaldez. Pageant coordinator Nicole Welch says a key part of the competition will be the talent. Showtime is 7 pm tomorrow at Bird’s Isle. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children.
