On Saturday the Citizens Organized for Liberty through Action, COLA elected its first executive. The new seven member executive who will serve a one year term are the President Bernard Adolphus, Vice President Elena Smith, Secretary Cathleen Flowers, Assistant Secretary Carolyn Westby, Treasurer Patrick Rogers and the trustees are Alicia Wade and Angela Hyde. COLA now has one hundred and twenty registered members. Citing the need for the organization’s activities to be properly financed, COLA members have decided to implement a one time five dollar registration fee and a monthly membership fee of five dollars.
COLA’s next event is a solidarity “no cell phone weekend scheduled to begin from six p.m on Friday July eleventh to six p.m. Sunday July thirteenth. For that weekend, COLA encourages Belizeans not to use their cell phones.
