Mr. Program has hit the jackpot with his hugely popular song – "See I Rise." It was an instant hit on radio and now with a music video and a full album – Mr. Program is hoping to ride the wave of popularity to shores and charts beyond Belize. He stopped by our studios today to show us the video and tell us why he won't be a one hit wonder.
Mr. Program, Releasing Album
"The response actually crazy you know. Mr. Program seriously, to be honest with you, it seems that internationality deh close. Even a month or a month and a half after the release of one song alone, I had already sold like 400 CDs without a video, without any release. This is basically the release date today where they are seeing it on Channel 7 and so forth up to today's date, I've already sold over 600 plus CDs so it is actually crazy. But I like the vibe, the response, I guess I have to say thanks to the fans and
the people out there who are supporting the music and all the DJs who are pushing it same way."
Keith Swift,
Did you expect it?
Mr. Program,
"Well I am not surprised because I know my music is on that level. I am an entertainer too and try my best to make sure when I do my music, the people jump up to it.
You know we grow up ghetto youth. My father is a vendor, he sells snow cones. My mom has ten kids, lives home, and basically we grow up poor. We know what it is to have no food or little bit of nothing. We go to school with sometimes one blank, not tennis –a slippers. We know that but we are not attacking nobody and saying it is anyone's fault. We know ending of the day we will always say the system, the system but I get tired of blaming the system and regardless of whoever fault and whoever has their part to play, I figure I have my mines too and I push my music how I believe I could do it and the feedback is nice and we are getting there so I guess from now go back I will just push the music until the day we rest."
The CD was recorded at Ludwig Studios and the video was directed by Linda Blease. The CD is available widely and you can find out more about Mr. Program at http://www.myspace.com/mrprogramm or email him at mrprogram@hotmail.com.
