For the long weekend, Deputy Prime Minister Gaspar Vega will be acting Prime Minister. That is because Prime Minister Dean Barrow left Belize today for Port of Spain Trinidad. PM Barrow will attend a special meeting of the CARICOM Heads of Government. The leaders will again discuss how the global financial meltdown is hurting traditional trading relationships of member countries. PM Barrow is accompanied by his financial advisor Alan Slusher. They both return to Belize on Tuesday.
