To accommodate those residents who have or are still being affected – both Cleopatra White and Matron Roberts Polyclinics will be open over the weekend. Director of the Central Health Region – Dr. Paul Edwards reiterated why those residents who are being affected should be cautious.

Dr. Paul Edwards, Director – Central Health Region
“It is of paramount importance for those especially who have shortness of breath and who would have tightening of the chest because those are very serious implications that could possibly result in serious health problems we are recommending them to access healthcare services as soon as possible. There have been some individuals who have accessed our healthcare system. We know that when we went out and we were knocking on doors and talking to people, some people who were asthmatic they were aggravated, some people have gone to the healthcare system because of the stinging in the eyes and so they have accessed healthcare services.

The best solution is to move away from that environment and we know many times that may not be realistic. So other things they can do is to ensure that they have a clean and continuous supply of water, wash their faces often, even to have a rag of such that can be damped with water to be able to clean your faces. Many times it will necessitate for them to take a complete bath and really and truly access the healthcare services. When you recognize that the signs and symptoms are so intense that you need it, don’t wait for too long. Please access the services. The Matron Roberts Polyclinic, the Cleopatra White Polyclinic will be opened over the weekend from 8 to 12 and outside of those hours kindly access the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. They will be there to address all the needs that you present.”

Again both Cleopatra White and Matron Roberts Clinics will be opened over the long weekend from 8 am to midday. Dr. Edwards say thereafter – residents can access the KHMH.
