“Coming Into focus” – that’s the name of the latest exhibition at the Image Factory. It’s a photography exhibit but does not feature any big name picture takers. In fact they are all students from the SJC School of Professional studies and their teacher Yasser Musa told us why they are good enough to have their own exhibit.
Yasser Musa,
“Well this exhibition involves 28 student photographers. SJC through the School of Professional Studies Art Center, from January to May we had this class digital imaging where students would be given different types of photographic projects. For example portrait, landscape, abstract, expression – all types of topics and then they would go out, take the pictures, and come back and we would critique it as a class. So what you see here are about 200 of those works plus we will have a slideshow of about 500 and essentially it is really the best of what they have produced and very rarely do we get to see a group think kind of experience. Most of the time it is just one artist on the wall but in a setting like this it is great to see so many different types of expressions.”
The show includes over 200 prints plus a slide show featuring another 500 images. The exhibition opens tonight and runs for three weeks.
