7 Performers went into the Next Level Project show on Friday night – and only 4 went on to the next round. The show aired live on Channel 7 and we have a slight recap and then reaction from the four who bested their competition and moved unto the next round.
Keith Swift Reporting,
There were seven performers…but in the end only four advanced.
[Announcement of 4 finalists]
And for this group which held through for three shows and two rounds of eliminations – there was genuine affection on Friday night. That is because these contestants say their advancement was bitter sweet.
Clive Myers. Finalist – the Next Level Project
“We had been together from earlier this year doing vocal training and rehearsing with the band so we’ve created that bond with each other and to know it was seven of us and it all boils down to now four and then leaving

the other three guys behind and moving on to the next round was a little ketchy for some of us.”
Tricia Gabourel, Finalist – the Next Level Project
”I wish everybody could stay in the competition as long as possible but some people have to get eliminated and may the best win but I’ve become very close friends with everybody in the group so its really sad to know that we are down to only four of us as compared to seven and ten.”
Denise Castillo, Finalist – the Next Level Project
“It’s sad in a sense but I am glad that they made it that far and I wish the best of luck to them in their future.”
And now this group of competitors who have morphed into a family say that with no hard feelings – come Friday November 20th it’s each man and woman

for him, and herself because – it's win it all or go home with only a memory.
Tricia Gabourel,
“I always have a level of confidence going into the competition because I know that I am going to try my best to bring out my best when I bring out my performance.”
Keith Swift,
“Because you know this is it, either win or go home?”
Tricia Gabourel,
“Yes it is either win or go home. I wish everybody the best, everybody, the last three contestants and myself, I hope the best person wins.”
Clive Myers,
“I am actually excited for November 20th. I want it to be here like probably this Friday for the mere fact that the show is about to finish and I want to give all Belizeans a show that they will enjoy, being the last one.”
Keith Swift,
“So you don’t feel any pressure?”
Clive Myers.
“No not really.”
Keith Swift,
“Because it is either win or lose.”
Clive Myers.
“Well yeah but that is the reason why they have first second and third and knowing that it is four of us and there is only one slot not available for somebody, my goal is to at least not be in that slot. It is either first, second, or third for me.”
Denise Castillo,
“I am trying to figure out what song I am going to sing and preparing so I am a bit nervous yes.”
Keith Swift,
“Because the 20th will be it, either win or you lose.”
Denise Castillo,
“I know and on that show I will try and bring my best and do what is the best I can do to get that particular response that I would want.”
The fourth finalist is Deborah Pitts. Again, those final four competitors will sing it out – or hug it out – at the final show which will be live on Channel 7 on Friday November 20th. Tickets for the event are also available. And for those who missed Friday’s show, there will be a special repeat airing tomorrow night at 8:00 on Channel 7. Click here for more: Next Level Project.
