It's a Christmas Tradition: every year the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association holds a Christmas party for deserving Belize City school children.
This year over 200 children participated at the event at the House of Culture - where Sponge Bob and Santa were sharing the main stage:
Laura Esquivel Frampton - Quality Assurance Officer, BTB

"We come together every year and the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association brings Santa and his elves to us along with gifts for all the children, and the BTB helps to coordinate getting all the kids here. We make sure that they'll get a meal and juice before they go home, and of course some entertainment, because it is a party. We try to spread it out, and we try to choose 4 or 5 schools, and work with the schools to identify the most needy children who probably wouldn't have a Christmas other than the parties like this that are held for kids every year. So we work along with the schools identify the children that will be here as a part of the festivities. The cruise lines they get together as an association, and they try to give back to all the countries that they visit, so Belize is just one of the stops that they'll be making, and bringing some joy."
