Last week we told you about a stabbing death in Caye Caulker. It happened when an altercation ensued between a mentally ill man and his cousins, one of whom died from the injuries.

This week, after 17 year old Issac Marin had been cremated, his ashes were loaded onto a boat to be taken to the Split in the center of Caye Caulker where he had spent countless happy days. Over 450 of his fellow islanders on 31 boats came out to say goodbye to the young man who many thought of as possessing the true essence of a Caye bwoy.

As the ashes spread throughout the water, blending with the salt and sand of the Caribbean sea, the people of Caye Caulker paid a collective tribute to a life violently taken far too soon.
