On Monday we told you about the drowning death of 33-year-old Herwin Godoy, a KHMH employee who had been employed by the hospital for the better part of a decade.
His service and dedication was honored this afternoon when the management and staff of the KHMH paid Herwin Godoy one final tribute.
It involved staff members lining the parking lot and front entrance of the KHMH to stand in vigil as the ambulance driver's body carried by a KHMH truck took one final trip up and down the hospital hill.
It was a tribute that overwhelmed the family's spokeswoman Nathasha James Requena who gave a moving speech thanking her cousin's co-workers for all their love and support.
The tribute ended with tremendous applause and cheers for Godoy and all his contributions.
Following the hospital's tribute, the procession made one final stop at Godoy's home in West Landivar before being taken to his final resting place at the Lord Ridge Cemetery.
