The Michael Gordon Project has been launched at the Image Factory Art Foundation, named after one of Belize's most prolific and enduring artists.

The first step of the project was to transport over 500 works by Michael Gordon for what's called a temporal installation at the center storage space of the former Sugar Factory at Libertad, Corozal. Basically, it looks like wrapping up and carrying those hundreds of paintings to the center of the abandoned factory and just leaving them there.

A press release describes the project as, quote, "present(ing) the idea of the artist as worker, as producer - not just of works, but of ideas and concepts. The artist Michael Gordon, now in his 62nd year of life, has designed, developed and created over 2000 works of art." End quote.

The second step, which started today, sees the "imagiNATION Factri" undergoing a process of cataloging the works collected of Gordon over the past decades, to be made available for public consumption.
