Our neighbor up the road from 7News on Dean Street, Timmy Stamp has been quietly leading an after school program for over a decade. He does this in the middle of a gang affiliated neighborhood, and provides a safe space for many children in the neighborhood who may have challenging home environments.
He does this from his heart, without fanfare or publicity seeking - and has caught the attention of the Belize Tourism Board and the Belize Audubon Society. They realize that while his children may live in what's considered a gang affiliated neighborhood - they also live a few blocks from the heart of downtown Belize City.
So, the BAS and the BTB wanted these kids to see the other side of the Belizean reality - and become travelers themselves. They got to visit the St Hermans Blue Hole National Park. Here's a look at the day's activities.
