Today was the annual Coast Guard luncheon, where guardsmen are served by their senior officers. The officers that are normally braving the waters, rescuing lives and preventing crime, were able to just kick back and enjoy some downtime.
And at the same time, almost forty officers were promoted, while others were treated to giveaways and other chances to win prizes.
The Coast Guard's commandant and the Minister of Defense spoke about the importance of giving back to the officers who dedicate their lives to service.
And in addition, the Coast Guard also inaugurated a recreational facility today, which they constructed themselves. Admiral Bennett told us more about it.
