The Spotlight Initiative, it's a targeted response to gender-based violence that from 2020 up until this year was meant to support the national response to that very issue.
But Spotlight comes to a close in December of this year, and when it does it takes with it many targeted interventions that have, during this period aided in prevention, intervention, and service initiatives at the community level.
And today more than 6 months before the close of the program, UNICEF brought together various civil society groups to discuss and plan the next step, what to do when the spotlight goes dim.
This morning we spoke to program coordinator Sherlette Neal Tablada about the roles of these civil society stakeholders in preventing gender-based violence and today's reflections on how those roles will have to evolve post-spotlight.
Spotlight was made possible through the European Union's investment of over 3 million US dollars.
