The Passing Of Carlos The Generous

And, finally, tonight we note the passing for former Lake Independence Representative, Carlos Diaz. The 75 year old died at his Belize City home yesterday. A family member told us he had a heart condition and had recently broken his hip, leaving him bedridden.

Diaz was elected in that Lake I in 1989 and served as Minister of Energy and Communication. He never regained the constituency - though he did later run as an independent candidate. Still he was a noted figure in "The Lake" - known for both his gregariousness and generosity.

Diaz will have an official funeral on Monday August 7th at 10 am at the St Martin's Church.
