And there's one more major mission that the MIDH is undertaking at the same time. Remember the fallen Phillip Goldson bust that we told you about yesterday?

Well, MIDH is coming to the rescue for their highway's namesake.

Yesterday we shared perspective of the sculptor Stephen Okeke on the Philip Goldson Bust after the City Council propped the badly damaged figure back up as if nothing had happened, with Goldson's cracked head slanted onto the neck of the statue.

Well, that wouldn't work for the MIDH. Chief engineer Moody confirmed that they are seeing to repairs:

Evondale Moody
"We were just notified about that yesterday because I wasn't aware that it was even damaged over the holiday because I stayed at home. But in discussions that I had with CEO Espat and myself, we thought that it was important for us to try and assist."

"We're aware that Mr. Phillip Goldson is one of our national heroes and of course we don't believe that it should be left like that. We weren't the one that installed it and we're not responsible for that structure but because it is placed in the median at the beginning of the Phillip Goldson Highway, we thought that it's important for us to try and see what we can do to salvage it and do some corrective measures to reinstall it."

"So what I've done, I've asked my team this morning to remove it from the location that it was and so we took it to our compound in Ladyville. We've covered it up and I've been in some preliminary discussions with Mr. Stephen Okeke with respect to trying to get a quotation from him to do the repairs that is necessary for us to reinstate it back in its proper position. So as soon as I could get that concluded, then we can move from there and maybe formulate a contract with him to do those repairs to the bust and also to the structure itself and to try and get it re-established."
