This morning on Sunup on 7, Price's grand-nephew, Minister Henry Charles Usher, reflected on his service ahead of the 105th anniversary of his birth:

Henry Charles Usher, Price's Grandnephew
"On Monday, George Price would have been 105 years old, he was born January 15th 1919 and of course you know he serves as, he's the father of the nation, prime minister, just a humble, great servant of Belize."

"His life, his legacy continues to educate us today, continues to inspire us today, continues to give us that drive to want to be a part of the national development of our country, be a part of the national development of our country, be a part of wanting to serve Belize and I think, to me that is the most enduring legacy that even today, the young people can look back on the life of George Price, look back at the lessons that George Price left, the speeches that he gave when he travelled around the country, the life that he lived in terms of being so humble, so down to Earth, so approachable, going to church every single morning, such a spiritual religious man, it was important that that was the main part of his life and it is something that we can always try to emulate and live up to."

"I'm happy that the Ministry of Education, NICH, continues to celebrate George Price Day. The ceremony will be in Orange Walk this year so I'll be traveling up there on Monday to be a part of that. There's also a book so if we can get into that, the Let Belize Live series which is just a collection of the speeches of George Price and it's traveling around the country at the different Houses of Culture, it was in Belmopan, I believe it's been down south already, so it's traveling to Orange Walk so in addition to celebrating George Price Day, the exhibit will be up there in Orange Walk for the students, the residents of Orange Walk can go and see it."
