If you didn't get a chance to visit any of the Lobster Fest's in Caye Caulker, San Pedro, or Placencia, all hope isn't lost. Bird's Isle is bringing Lobster Fest to Belize City. This Sunday, they're planning a day of cuisine with your favorite crustacean as the star. Courtney Menzies stopped by their restaurant today and has this story.

Lobster Fest is usually reserved for the islands - and the peninsula - but now it's coming to Belize City.

And while the city streets don't give off that "beachy vibe," the chefs know how to throw it down on the grill. Lobster can be found on most menus during the season, and served in more ways than one.

And Bird's Isle is bringing all of those dishes to the city's urban population right at their restaurant. The organizer explained that they're aiming to bring the Lobster Fest spirit to the city.

"Firstly, we're an island, Bird's Isle, we're an island, so we have to bring that spirit here. We want the people in the city to get that feel that we can do things here as well. Most people don't go to the cayes or Placencia because they can't afford it so we're making it easy for those here in the city or in the villages if they want to come as well."

"We have a long list of dishes, we have lobster fritters, lobster ceviche, we have stew lobster, curry lobster, creole lobster, lobster boil, lobster burger, fried lobster, grilled lobster, you name it, we will have it."

And she added that it will be a lot more than just lobster:

"Food, lobster galore, and as well as many games and activities for adults and children because we do have some games for the adults as well."

"We have invited some small businesses to do different pastries, we have someone making clay pots, so that's something very interactive and new. And we also have space available for people to sell their desserts, drinks or products, not really food because the restaurant is taking charge of the food."

"You will have to put in your order and wait like a restaurant, however, it's going to be happening from 10am to 6pm so you could be here, you can go and do the activities and then you come and eat or you come and eat then you go and do the activities so it's just a fun day here at Bird's Isle."

The event starts at 10 on Sunday morning and costs $10 for adults and $5 for children.

The Lobster Fest starts at 10 and ends at 6 in the evening.
