It started out as the Road March 50 years ago by the Belize Women for Cultural Preservation, an event designed mostly for children and teens to showcase their talents in dance and costumes to the community. But over the years, the Carnival Road March grew in numbers and popularity - and with the abundance of colors and elaborate outfits, It's become a true carnival - like the ones you'll see in other Caribbean countries.

And this year to commemorate the 50th anniversary - the Belize Carnival Association is celebrating with the launch of two commemorative songs and a magazine. And it's all with the blessing of the Ministry of Culture which launched both offerings today:
