And in other news related to the foreign police of the United States, yesterday the US Department of State imposed visa restrictions on African, Cuban, and Grenadian government officials, and their family members, for what it calls, quote "their complicity in the Cuban regime's medical mission scheme in which medical professionals are ‘rented' by other countries at high prices and most of the revenue is kept by the Cuban authorities."

That's the Cuban medical brigade from which Belize also benefits - but our government says it pays the doctors directly.

And, so far, Belizean officials have not been targeted with visa sanctions:

Francis Fonseca, Minister of Foreign Affairs
"No impact on Belize. So, you know, we obviously we, we monitor those things carefully and, we engage with the U.S. embassy here in Belize on those matters. But none of the recent announcements have any impact on Belize."

Jules Vasquez:
"And we have no, no indications that Belize may someday be targeted in this."

Francis Fonseca, Minister of Foreign Affairs
"No indications, no."
