And while the political directorate and the cultural apparatus all bend the knee to a deserving cultural centerpiece - history tells us that the Carnival Road March started out as an instrumentality of the then UDP - with key direction from Henry Young. The event was seen as a way to augment the 10th - which the UDP embraced but the PUP have always rejected as a myth.
