There was drama in the pageant world after several Miss Universe contestants walked out of the sashing ceremony today after Miss Mexico was reportedly disrespected by the Thai pageant director. Our Miss Belize, Isabella Zabaneh, joined the walk out, leading to concerns of whether it would affect her place in the competition.
Earlier today, the Miss Universe Belize Foundation issued a release stating that they have been in constant communication with her and that they support her decision. The Miss Universe Organization has also issued a statement confirming that a high level delegation led by the Chief Executive Officer Mario Bucaro is en route to Thailand to mediate the dispute. All scheduled events and pageant activities will continue as planned.
