The education summit continued today studying the issue of investment in education.

The keynote address was delivered by Santos Mahung, international consultant who now lives in
Washington, DC and works at the OAS.

He came today to share with a well attended gathering a rule that applies from Washington, D.C. all the way to Otoxha, Toledo: "Ain't nothing free."

Santos Mahung,
"I addressing this is issue let me quickly dispel two myths: the first is, and I will cover the microphone at this point because I understand I am being broadcasted, there is no Santa Clause [scattered applause]; I do not believe in wish lists. In management terminology there is a fundamental difference between wish lists and goals or objectives. Goals or objectives are state of affairs or things which are both wanted and which one must be willing to invest the necessary time and effort and resources to attain. The second myth that I wish to dispel is about free lunches; they are no free lunches and they are no quick fixes in education."

Tomorrow we'll have highlights of Thursday's keynote speaker Zee Edgell.
