As we showed you last week, for the days leading up to the opening of classes, school children could be seen begging for book money in front of A & R on the Northern Highway. That's right across the street from the Courts headquarters and, apparently, the sight didn't go un-noticed. Courts Belize pitched in to help defray some of those expenses. Under the programme 20 shoppers could receive up to a $1,000 each. Anna Marie Bennett told us about the latest round of giveaways.

Anna Marie McCulloch, Courts Belize
"Customers are appreciative of the promotion and it's a time when people need extra funds to go back to school so we've made it bigger this year. In the past we use to offer the prize to seven customers, one per branch, we've increased it this year to twenty winners across the country. So today we're presenting the people who won a certificate, which is up to $1,000 towards school expenses. At this stage most people have registered for school and have bought books, so with the presentation of receipts, we will reimburse them for funds and if there are any other fees that come up, if it is not up to $1,000 for the school year, we will pay directly to the institution."
