The village of Roaring Creek has its first computer lab. Yesterday, Prime Minister Said Musa and PUP standard bearer for Cayo South Charles Galvez opened the village's first resource center. It's a first for the village and though it's only five computers with internet access, the man who once boasted of putting internet capable computers in every primary school had somewhat tempered his ambitions, he said 5 is still a significant first step.
Rt. Hon. Said Musa,
"This is a very important occasion my friend because it is offering our young people the opportunity to improve their life skills. The computer opens a new world to us. It has been only like a decade now that this internet and this whole new world has really developed. The computer and the internet has opened up the world to all of us, to interface, to interact with each other. The computer in a different way, offers us that opportunity to continue interacting, not only with people here in the village of Roaring Creek. I think this center will serve a very useful purpose in bringing our people together, young and old."
The resource center will be open from 3 pm to 8 pm and it will be staffed with volunteers. After opening the computer lab, the always game Mr. Musa test drove a John Deer Grass Cutter which will be used in the division. The computers and the grass cutter were purchased with money from the government of Belize.
