The controversy over the $40 million ITVET project has subsided. As we've reported, buildings on the old Technical College Campus are being demolished and its full steam ahead for the project. And a part of the agreement was that in return for the title to the prime property that the Technical College Campus occupied on Freetown Road, government would in turn provide training for faculty members of UB's School of Engineering.
Yesterday the Ministry of Education announced that 5 UB faculty members have been awarded scholarships to pursue postgraduate degrees at the National Yunlin University of Science and Technology in Taiwan.
Jeffrey David Jones, Leonard Motis, and Adrian Leslie will pursue degrees in construction engineering; Andres Chimilio will pursue computer science and construction engineering and Ruey-Shyang Ju will pursue a degree in the department of engineering science and technology.
