The results of the PSE overall are known tonight – but while the seven thousand test takers and their parents sit around waiting – those results are sitting on a bureaucrat’s desk and try as we did to tease them out today, we were unable to.
What we have heard from reliable sources is that overall the average scores are down from last year – but at this time we cannot say what subjects proved the most disappointing. What is encouraging is that the top two individual finishers are from the public school system and they are both not from the Belize district. The schools with the best overall average are private; they are Belize Elementary, Hummingbird Elementary and Bernice York.
The names of the top finishers as well as the overall averages are expected to be released tomorrow.
