The Secretary General of the Caribbean Telecommunications Union is visiting Belize to publicize an information and communication technology road show that’s coming to Belize in October. It’s all about the prioritizing development of information communication technology in the region. She explained why it’s such a priority.

“The road show will be coming to Belize from the 12th to the 15th of October this year and the theme for the program is “harnessing the power of innovation, the engine for ICT enabled Caribbean development.” And the thrust of the road show is to spark the imagination of the citizens of the institutions of the governments of the region that there are tools available, information and communication technology tools available that could help them in every sphere of human endeavour. And I am talking governments, I am talking about institutions, I am talking about small businesses – every sphere of human endeavour is really touched by information and communication technology.
We’re trying to spark the imagination of the citizens of the region that innovative use of information and communication technologies could contribute to their personal development, social, cultural, economic.”
The road show will travel throughout the region and it visits Belize in mid October.
