Yesterday, the Belize Central Prison celebrated two incarcerated minors at the Wagner's Youth Facility. The pair excelled in an online high school program - placing first and third.
That's no small feat for two youths who were going at high speed down a dead end street. Their turnaround proves that prison isn't all about punishment, it can also be about redemption:

Murillo says that education extends to basic knowledge shared with the 130 persons who are locked up under the extended Southside state of emergency. He says he also has to educate them on the tough terms of their incarceration:
The current Southside State Of Emergency expires on October 5th. Notably, there have been 20 fewer murders committed in Belize City up to the third week of September of 2020, when compared to the same period in 2019.
