Consumers may see their electricity bill rise even higher since MOE is in the process of distributing tablets. Yesterday saw the distribution of the first set of "phablets" that the Ministry of Education has procured to help bridge the digital divide for students who are distance learning. Today, the second set was distributed to schools in the Belize District. As in Cayo, there was a ceremony where Minister of Education, Patrick Faber, gave his swan song - the last few speeches he has left during this term of office. He reminded the public that there were no politics involved in the process and that, for those who were looking to make a quick buck off the tablets, there are security measures in place to prevent that.

Tablets will be distributed to schools in Corozal and Orange Walk on Monday and to Stann Creek and Toledo on Tuesday.
