And while those Port Loyola residents are asking to move, another is demanding to stay. ‘Man at Work’, Terryl Godoy has turned into a_ ‘Man at War’ against developers at the Port of Belize limited.

As we have reported on 7NEWS, Godoy has locked heads with the big money Port Developers over a plot of land on Cesar Ridge Road which he has called home for 20 years. But in the fight, Godoy is down one to nil as the developers have already cut down the Mangrove forest that once made up his backyard. He is down but Godoy is not out, and on Sunday, he will rally support for his cause at an on-site solidarity concert. Godoy says the concert will be a way to send a message to government and the Port developers.

Terryl Godoy, Concert Organizer
“This concert will be different musicians volunteering to support man at work and what I am trying to do which is preserve natural nature and the environment in general. So we have a band from Cayo that is going to be here. We have the Players Band and we have individual stars Uprising. There will be so many different bands. And we plan to have a few speeches or poetry from the famous River of Fire and from Erwin Jones as well. There will be eats and drinks and food to sell and drinks and anything.”

“This solidarity concert is not for raising funds but to show the concern about the environment and to let the government know that Terryl Godoy has support by signing the petition paper.”

Sunday's concert begins at 1 in the afternoon on Caesar Ridge near the Esso entrance. The signatures collected for the petition will eventually end up on the desk of Deputy Prime Minister John Briceno. For the concert Godoy is being assisted by the National Tour Guide Association and the ‘singers and players of instruments’ organization.
