Another Nationwide Power Collapse

Tonight, 20% of the country, mostly in the north is without power as BEL had another full system collapse at 4:30 pm. The problem this time is again in Mexico, at CFE's Xul-Ha plant where there was an explosion sometime this afternoon. When Xul-Ha went down, BEL had to crank up its mile 8 substation and other resources to get 80% of the country back on line by 5:45 pm. But presently BEL does not have the domestic capacity to bring up the entire country so until Xul-Ha is repaired, 20% of the country, primarily Orange Walk and Corozal, will remain without power.
