North Drowned Caye - it's a project of enduring mystery. Developer Mike Feinstein plans to build a megaplex on the caye which sits just off Belize City. He also plans to build a causeway from the city to the caye. That's a development on a scale not previously contemplated in Belize. And much of the widespread public apprehension about the project has been fuelled by the lack of information. For months, Feinstein has refused to return our calls to comment on it and most of what is stated as fact has been yerri so.

But now an Environmental Impact Assessment has been submitted, and today, in an advertisement that airs on this newscast, the plans for the Ocean View Grand has been revealed for the first time to the public. Here's an excerpt of that infomercial.

Excerpt of Infomercial: "...an elevated causeway and bridge path that will connect North Drowned Caye to Belize City across from the Gabourel Lane entrance to Marine Parade Boulevard. Residential homes and condominiums, a commercial village with shops and services, a convention and casino hall, three hotel complexes, and a marina - all to be established on North Drowned Caye..."

The EIA is now pending approval from NEAC.
