During November, CARICOM member countries celebrate Energy Month. So on Monday, the Belize Energy Unit, which falls under the Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy and Logistics, launched its list of month-long activities to observe its importance.

The extended focus on energy is intended to increase awareness of the importance and opportunities of more sustainable energy and a climate-resilient future for all.

Belize's Energy Month activities continued today with the launch of the Ministry's 'LAIT UP BELIZE' project. That's a pilot initiative to improve the energy efficiency in various public buildings in Belmopan, including the NEMO, Curl Thompson, and others.

Here's an excerpt of the keynote address from Minister Rodwell Ferguson:

The theme for this year's energy month is 'From Dependence to Resilience: Fueling our Recovery with Sustainable Energy'.
