And while those are Belize's tangible results post COP26, the minister says it's still not over he hopes that more can be done in the year between this COP and the next.

"So I think that if on the larger scale we don't get the money that we thought we'd get through the financing negotiations at least maybe in different sectors we can get that assistance, I also think it is incumbent upon us as the Belize team and going back home as the government to get our people, involved in all these meetings even regionally and extra-regionally to be part of the process because many times there are projects out there and we are not involved, there might be a CARICOM project, we are not involved, there is a central American project, we are not involved, so we need to be part of those meetings we need to have our focal point s attend those meetings and come back and submit project proposals so that we are part of it."
