2 weeks ago, the Belize Audubon Society celebrated its 53rd Anniversary as an NGO that co-manages important natural habitats on behalf of Belize and Belizeans. And for the last few days, the organization has been engaging youths from the Ebenezer Scout Group in the 25th Anniversary of their Great Backyard Bird Count.
The Backyard Bird Challenge is a 4-day activity that allows children and youth to take part in a fun and practical science project about identifying the different bird species in Belize.

Representatives of the Audubon Society tell us that the children from buffer community schools of Crooked Tree and Biscayne Villages are regular participants in Great Back Yard Bird Count. This event was the first engagement between Audubon and those children since the implementation of COVID pandemic measures, almost 2 years ago.
